How to price your second-hand furniture in Cyprus
When you are moving out, the goal is not to get the best price for each item: it is to have everything gone by the day you leave, for a fair total.
Start from what it costs new, then divide
As a rough rule, furniture in good condition sells for a third to a half of its new price. Older or well-used items sell for less, and big items that need a van sell for less again: buyers have to organise transport.
Look at what sells, not what's listed
Prices you see in groups are asking prices. If the same sofa is listed for weeks, the price is too high. Items that disappear in a day were priced right.
Use round numbers
€20, €50, €80: round prices are easier to accept and easier to message about. Leave a little room if you expect people to negotiate.
Give the small things away
Kitchen bits, plants, hangers, half-used paint: marking them free saves you hours of messages, and people who come for free items often buy something else.
Lower the price as the date gets closer
If something has not moved after a week, lower it. A week before you leave, consider a “everything must go” price on what's left.
Bagsy suggests a second-hand price for every photo. Treat it as a starting point: you know your items, your area and your deadline.
